Dr. Shaun Khurana
Assistant Professor, Nonprofit Management
Biography
Dr. Khurana’s research focuses on interactions between program users and frontline workers in nonprofit and public organizations. His work explores issues including administrative burdens in program access, program performance management, and voice in organizations. He is particularly interested in schools and nonprofits serving vulnerable communities.
Currently, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses such as Working with Nonprofit Organizations in Community Settings, Human Resource Management for Nonprofits, and Risk Management for Nonprofits. Before joining the nonprofit leadership program in UF IFAS/FYCS, he was an Associate Instructor at Indiana University’s O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs, where he completed his PhD and taught courses that connected students to community nonprofits for service learning.
Dr. Khurana is passionate about rigorous and innovative social science research methods that further the science and practice of organizations and leaders serving their communities. He enjoys sharing his love of nonprofits and research-practice connections with extension agents and students alike.
