What are the admissions requirements for the master’s degree program?
To apply to the MS degree, candidates must have:
- A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a comparable degree from an international institution;
- An undergraduate GPA of at least a B (3.0), calculated from all grades and credits after the semester where the applicant reached 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours; and
- A completed application packet following the department’s MS Application Checklist.
Note: The GRE is not required for admission to the master’s program.

How many credit hours are required for the MS degree?
30 credit hours

What are the application deadlines?
- Fall: Apply by February 1
- Spring: Apply by September 1

Can a student transfer credits from another accredited institution?
Yes, a student can transfer up to 15 credits earned at UF and 9 credits earned at another regionally accredited institution with departmental approval. Not all credit transfers are guaranteed. Does the University of Florida offer career placement services?
Yes, the University of Florida has a Career Resource Center available to degree seeking students. Both current students and alumni can access the center.

How do international students apply?

Does the MS program accept students using the UF EEP tuition waiver, Santa Fe Employee Tuition Waiver, or State of Florida Employee Tuition Waiver Programs?
Yes, if a student is accepted into the program, we accept the UF EEP, State of Florida Employee, and the Santa Fe Tuition Waivers. Please see the Registrar’s Employee Education page for details.
