Keith R. Schneider
Keith R. Schneider received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida from the college of education, specializing in biology. He did his Master’s work at the University of South Florida, College of Public Health, studying the effect of ozone on Vibrio vulnificus, and its ability to depurate shellfish.
He returned to the University of Florida pursue his doctoral studies in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, working with ozone and it’s ability to degrade marine toxins associated with Florida red tides. His most recent post-graduation employment was as the Vice President and Director of Research Microbiology at ABC Research, Corp., Gainesville, FL. He returned to the University of Florida in the fall of 2000, taking an Assistant Professor position in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition specializing in Food Safety Microbiology.
Currently he is working on produce safety, examining intervention strategies against Salmonella, Shigella, and E. coli
