Rick Akin, a graduate from Eckerd College, began his career with DBPR in 1990 where he worked at the Tampa District office. He started as an inspector, was promoted to supervisor, then to District Administrator in Miami . Rick also has worked for Department of Agriculture in the Division of Food Safety, before being offered his current position as State Program Quality Manager. His current duties include overseeing employee training, plan reviews, and quality assurance.
He will be giving you an overview of the Division of Hotels & Restaurants.
