Profile

Dr. Bobroff has been on the faculty of the University of Florida since 1985. She received a BA in Elementary Education from Brooklyn College, and was a fourth grade teacher before pursuing graduate studies in Nutrition. She studied at Rutgers University and the University of Wisconsin – Madison, earning a Master of Science and Ph.D. in Nutrition. She is also a Registered Dietitian (RD) and Florida Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LD/N).

Since coming to Florida, Dr. Bobroff has provided leadership for Extension programs that address significant nutrition and health concerns including heart health, diabetes, cancer risk reduction, and weight management. She also has developed educational materials focused on maternal and infant nutrition, child nutrition, and nutrition for elders. In all of these areas, Dr. Bobroff has developed educational programs, authored Extension publications, and provided on-going support and training for county Extension faculty. She has received over $600,000 in grant funds to support Extension nutrition programming in Florida, and under her supervision, 17 graduate students have contributed to the development of Extension nutrition materials.
