GRandS (Grandfamily Resilience and Sustainability)
GRandS is a Florida Sustainable Community Project designed to strengthen systemic relationships in at-risk grandparent parenting grandchildren families through parent education, family interaction, and community connections. The long-term goals of the program are to:
- promote grandchildren’s resilience and positive youth development;
- promote family resilience; and
- create community cohesion.
Currently, GRandS is being offered to at-risk grandfamilies in Palm Beach County, Florida. The project is one of several supported by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture’s (NIFA) National Children, Youth, and Families at Risk (CYFAR) Program.
